Men's Senior League Overview

Welcome to Blue Mountain Senior Men's League

Organized in the early nineties, the Senior Men’s League provides a variety of golfing activities for male members of Blue Mountain Golf Club who are fifty-five and over.

Our PURPOSE is to provide a golfing environment in which members play in fair, individual and team competitions throughout the season. By rotating players among foursomes, members are introduced to a broad cross-section of Blue Mountain golfers. New members are quickly made to feel at home in the Club.

Senior Men’s Day is each Wednesday from May 7 to Sep 25. The tee is reserved for us starting at 8:15 which suits those who like to get in an early round as part of the overall Men’s Day program. The core group turns out each week for a friendly game of golf, which is usually followed by an informal gathering for refreshments and lunch during which the issues and challenges of life and the world are discussed. Weekly sign-up sheets are posted in the lower hall, one week in advance. Groupings are arranged on the weekend so that members can determine their tee times prior to arriving at the course. An entry fee of $2 is charged and distributed as Blue Mountain Bucks prizes each week.

Senior Match Play Tournaments, both Individual and Two-Man Team, are conducted under RCGA Rules and scheduled throughout the golf season.

The Interclub Series provides Senior Members with a great opportunity to meet new golfing friends in the area and play several interesting courses throughout the summer. Courses  included are ATOKA (Cranberry), Meaford, Owen Sound and Shelburne. Outings are designed to be both enjoyable and affordable. These games usually begin with a 9:00 AM Shotgun followed by a light lunch and a modest prize distribution. These events are great deals for the participating players.

The highlights of our competitive season are the Senior Club Championship which is scheduled for July 6, and the Senior Men’s Fall Field Day which is played using a Stableford based Quota Points format, on September, 4.

As you can see, we provide a full slate of golfing choices which will appeal to both competitive senior players, as well as those who just want to come out for a friendly social day of golf.

We hold two general meetings each year, a kick-off SPRING MEETING, and our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING in the fall. Check the Senior Men’s League page on the Blue Mountain website for up-to-date information about our activities and results throughout the season.

COME OUT AND JOIN US – WE’D LOVE TO PLAY WITH YOU
