Purpose of Score Entry and Handicaps
The recording of all scores and establishment of a handicap are part of the normal conditions associated with being a member of any golf club.
Handicapping is an equalizer for golfers of different abilities. When computing handicaps, a computer uses the 10 lowest of the last twenty scores. An accurate handicap allows golfers to play on a fair field whether the games are informal or at a championship level within the club or away.
The handicap committees of each club are expected to oversee the handicapping aspect of golfing on behalf of the club and the Golf Association of Ontario, of which we are all members
